They finally went and did it. It wasn’t enough that people had organically decided to throw Kraft Singles on their ramen, they had to canonize the process. KD Ramen. From the moment I found out about them, I knew I had to try.

As you can see from the thumbnail, they come in 3 varieties of escalating spice level. Aesthetically, there are pepper flakes in the spicier one. Personally, as someone who likes spicy food, even the hottest was fairly easy to handle. Then again, I have thrown a Kraft Single into spicy ramen to cool it before so that may be a natural side effect.

All in? They kinda defy explanation. I’m not sure if I like or dislike them even having had a few. They’re certainly a more economical option than buying a box of KD just to use the powder in your ramen, so maybe that’ll be the tie-breaker for people. I’m gonna continue to try making sense of them (probably through another few bowls).

PS, naturally I had to hit them with the Canadian classic ketchup combo: it may not look great in the picture, but it tasted pretty damn good so 🤷
