Reader here, and I was recently thinking of an old saying: “When your feet feel good, you feel good!”
This popped into my mind, after I finished up a recent “Learn to Run” clinic with the Yorkton Pacers Running Club, and found that my feet and knees were a little bit sore. Not in major pain, but sore.
Now, I must say that ever since I first did the Health Foundation Charity Road Race, back in 2017, I’ve been running in the same trusty orange and black Adidas shoes. They’re comfortable, and still do the trick for the most part, but I feel like the cushioning in them has been squashed down a bit over the years. So maybe, I don’t quite get the bounce wearing them that I used to.

The Old Faithfuls…
Perhaps that’s the reason that my feet and knees have been feeling a bit less than optimal after running lately.
So I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a new pair of runners.
In my travels over the weekend, I came upon a flashy pair of blue and neon green Adidas runners that caught my eye.

…and the New Hotness!
I tried ’em on, jogged a little bit in the store, and it felt like I was walking/running on a cloud!
So I plunked down my money (well, tapped my debit card), and brought those shoes home.
I laced them up and took them out on their maiden voyage at Tuesday’s “Learn to Run” clinic.
In the words of Borat…

I completed my run without issue – no sore feet, no achy knees… and no new shoe blisters!
Can’t ask for much more than that! And you know… when you get new shoes, you run even faster! It’s science!
Got another “Learn to Run” clinic tonight, and then just one week left, before we’re left to our own devices, to continue to train ahead of the Road Race.
If you haven’t registered for the Health Foundation Charity Road Race, it’s coming up on Sunday, August 16th in Yorkton.
