Hey, everybody – Reader here!
I think everybody knows that one of the most fun things you can do in Saskatchewan, is to make the trip to Mosaic Stadium, and see the Roughriders in action on their home turf.
The Green and White have been a tradition in Saskatchewan since 1910, bringing together families and friends with their fellow football fans, first at old Taylor Fields, and now at Mosaic Stadium.
As if that’s not fun enough, what if you got to come and enjoy the game for free in a luxury suite, with free food and beverages to go along with it?
Well, that’s what our lucky contest winners got to do on August 29th, when the Riders entertained the Toronto Argonauts!
Congratulations to Larry and Bev Kreklewich of Melville, and Terry and Debbie Hull of Willowbrook, who joined us in the Cruz FM suite, along with some of our co-workers, winners from our sister station GX94, and some of our great friends and clients.

Welcome to Bev and Larry Kreklewich and Terry and Debbie Hull, our lucky winners, who got to enjoy Saturday’s Rider game the Cruz FM suite at Mosaic Stadium – we were so happy to have you!

Not a bad view, I must say!
Some of our friends and clients were able to join in the fun with us as well!
Now, as I mentioned, our winners got to enjoy some great perks, including free food and beverages. And I’m not just talking about your standard stadium munchables. I’m talking about a big-time buffet, with everything from delicious roast pork, chicken, salads, clam chowder, and so much more, including a dessert and candy bar (including the donut wall that Grayson posted about on our socials), fresh fruit, breads, and both a hot dog and nacho bar, with all the fixings!
A pretty amazing spread! I won’t lie – I loaded up a couple of times, with pork, chicken, cabbage rolls, garlic sausage, hot dogs, doughnuts and candy. So good!
We were even able to talk our Cruz evening host Mark Johnston into taking a break for a few moments from his in-stadium announcing duties (which he rocks at, by the way!), to stop by the suite and say hello!

Grayson and I are on early in the morning, while Mark holds down the Cruz evening shift, so our paths don’t cross too often!
And before the game, we stopped by the SportsCage Lounge, and said a quick hello to our pre-game crew – Teagan Witko and Rider legend Wes Cates!
Random aside… I love the way that a little bit of the old was incorporated with the new, as some of the old Taylor Field bleachers were used to add some ambience to the lounge. It looks so good!
On top of all of that, we were treated to a pretty good football game, especially in the second half. The Riders, wearing their sweet Obsidian Green unis, struggled a bit in the first half, and trailed 22-12 at halftime.
Then… cue the comeback!
The Riders outscored the Argos 16-2 in the second half, and a late major by “Touchdown Tommy” Stevens with 2:58 left in the fourth quarter put the good guys ahead to stay, as Saskatchewan snapped a two-game losing skid and improved to 7-4, with a 28-24 victory!

All in all, a great time was had by all, and if you get the chance to experience the VIP treatment with Rider game, you’ve gotta check it out! I sure hope we get to do it again in 2027!
