A lot of big announcements in videogames with Sony’s State of Play event (where they show off all their upcoming games), but perhaps the biggest was the new God of War game. Now I’m not a God of War guy and haven’t played it, but what I have seen is the one of the sidekicks in the new game, Phranque.
Isn’t he cute. And Phranque is voiced by Jack Quaid who- okay what am I doing, you’ve already seen the thumbnail. That’s son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, star of The Boys, voice of videogame cube in a phranquely ridiculous PVC pipe contraption doing mocap for the new God of War. It’s funny to look at, and made me want to scrape together some other funny pictures of actors in unnecessary mocap gear.
Naturally there’s a lot of these of Mark Ruffalo, the man’s been the mocap guy at Marvel for more than a decade, but it’s understandable they’d have him in this stuff, after all the Hulk’s face is just his blown up a little bit.
Cumberbatch though? You look at that 3d model and tell me any of that data is useful whatsoever. Good for him for getting tummy time or whatever.
And you CAN’T tell me this is more affordable than just putting the dude in the suit. C’mon.
