So I took some time off at the beginning of the month to finally get after an issue that cropped up on my van in the fall: an insanely loud squealing noise anytime I’d start the engine. Come to find while diagnosing it in the cold winter that it was a faulty distributor.
The good news? I was pretty sure I had a perfectly working one in the parts van I picked up earlier in the year.

The bad news? It was buried under multiple feet of snow at my uncle and aunt’s place. So was my recipient van. So I waited, and planned, and waited more, and had a couple false starts as the snow started to melt before consecutive blizzards buried them again, until finally, the time arrived.

It was time. And speaking of time, that’s already 3 pictures in one blog post and I am beat, phew! I’ll share the gory pics of the WIP van on the next one.
Until then though, are you the type to find an issue like a distributor squealing and digging in to fix it yourself, or do you take it to the shop? (admittedly I’d pay someone else to do it if I could afford it lol)
