Reader here, back from a great four days with the Rocanville Lucky Lottery!

Last week, I was on location from Tuesday through Friday, for the final ticket blitz, leading up to Friday night’s draw!

Right from the get-go on Tuesday, it was busy, as we had lots of people wanting to get their tickets, and have a chance to win some major prizes, including that huge $100,000 grand prize.

And the closer we got to the deadline, the busier it got, with Friday (draw day) being the wildest day yet, with the phones ringing off the hook right from 6 a.m. to the end of the day.

I made sure I got my tickets by mid-week, as I didn’t want to be caught up in the last minute rush!

Of course, the money being raised through the lottery is invested right back into the community, to go toward the maintenance and enhancement of recreational facilities and the continued growth of sports, leisure and cultural programs that serve residents of Rocanville and the surrounding area, and building a strong, healthy, vibrant community.

One of the projects that the lottery supports is the ongoing rebuild of the community’s indoor swimming pool.

Work on the pool is nearing completion, and Lottery Committee Chair Kirby was kind enough to give me a sneak peek, and believe me when I say that you guys and gals are going to love it!

I don’t want to give too many details or spoil any surprises, but I can tell you this – it’s bright and spacious, and is something the whole region will really enjoy.

The goal is to reopen in the next few weeks, and I know it’ll be a busy hub of the community.  That’s why, even if you didn’t have a winning ticket in the lottery, it’s still a win-win, because you know that your ticket purchase will support worthwhile endeavours like this.

Speaking of the winners, they already know of their good fortune.  But in case you hadn’t heard, the draws were made on Friday night!

Who gets their name on the big cheque for $100,000?

In the end, the $100,000 grand prize went to Dwight Jurgens of Swift Current.  See below for a complete list of of all the lucky winners!

Congratulations to all of the winners, and thank you to everyone who purchased tickets and supported sports and recreation faciiities and programs for Rocanville and surrounding area.  It was awesome to see calls coming in from so many places across our listening area and beyond, as Saskatchewan residents know the importance of working together to build big things in our communities.

And a very big thank you to the volunteer crew that made it a great four days!

It was great to meet Andrea, Kirby and the whole gang, who made it a blast, and took great care of us.  I’m looking forward to coming back in 2026!
