Three years after Shane MacGowan’s passing, the music world is coming together to honor the legendary Pogues frontman with a star-studded tribute album, “20th Century Paddy – The Songs of Shane MacGowan,” slated for release this November. The announcement dropped alongside the first single, Bruce Springsteen’s soulful take on “A Rainy Night In Soho.”
The album boasts an impressive lineup: Hozier teams up with Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley, Tom Waits and Primal Scream lend their unique styles, and Steve Earle and David Gray join the tribute. Actor Johnny Depp partners with Imelda May for a duet, while The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Libertines, and even Kate Moss add their voices. MacGowan, who died in November 2023, left behind a powerful legacy, evidenced by the incredible voices joining this tribute.
