Reader here, and I’m getting more and more into the Christmas Spirit by the day!
Admittedly, I’m way behind on my Christmas shopping (and now, the need for some costly vehicle repairs will likely put me a bit further behind).
On the flip side, I’ve started getting the Christmas decorations out in my new place, in particular the Christmas tree. Thus far, I’ve gotten as far as getting the tree up, and putting on the lights. Hopefully, I can get it fully decorated this evening. That’s the plan, anyway!
Beyond that, I have wreaths, big light-up candy canes, jingle bells, stockings and much more to put on display, so very soon, my humble basement suite will become a holiday haven!
And speaking of Christmas cheer, on Monday night we had the chance to check out the Legacy Co-op Wonders of Winter by the Yorkton Lions Club!

This is the second year for the event, held at the Yorkton City Campground, and it’s bigger and better in 2025!
Grayson and I, along with some of our fellow crew from our sister station GX94 were greeting visitors at the gate, handing our Christmas oranges and Yorkton Terrier tickets!
Here’s a little taste, in case you haven’t made your way there yet!
Very cool! I love the Ukrainian Dancers! There’s also a fantastic nativity scene, and a great hockey display, as well. I didn’t get pictures of them, so you’ll have to go see them for yourself!
Don’t forget as well, that there’s a fun contest happening, so when you’re taking in the light displays, keep your eyes peeled for the elf hidden somewhere (the location changes each night), for a chance to win some fun prizes!
So pile your family and friends into the SUV or minivan, fill up a thermos or two with hot chocolate, and come out to enjoy the magic!
Here’s another of my favourite holiday tunes, to help get you un the mood! Enjoy!
