Reader here, coming at you as I relax after two great days in Rocanville, with the Lucky Lottery!

The best part? There’s still two more days to go, and you still have a chance to get your tickets, if you haven’t already done so!
The Lucky Lottery is a massive fundraiser, with a money raised going toward the upkeep and improvements of Rocanville’s recreation facilities, such as the pool and rink, while also supporting many sport and cultural activities that residents of both the town and surrounding area can enjoy, now and into the future.
What kind of activities you might ask? Everything ranging from dance classes, soccer, minor ball, and pickleball, to youth and senior groups, and golf lessons!
All of these things need funding to make them happen, and that’s where the money from our ticket purchases come in.
The biggest project that has been ongoing is the revamp of the indoor swimming pool, which has been underway for some time. It’s a facility that is well-used, but has also been much missed while closed for renovations.

I spoke with Lucky Lotto Committee Chair Kirby Fowler, about the importance of the pool, and what’s in store for everyone when it reopens!
Kirby took me for a tour this afternoon, and believe me, when I say it’s awesome, and you’re all going to love it!
Now, as far as the lotto itself, there are two more days left to get your tickets. The prize draws will be made this Friday night at 9 p.m. at the Nutrien Community Hall.
We want to make sure you have a chance to win big when those draws are made, and there are three ways to get your tickets – call 1-855-762-5686 to order by phone, buy them online at http://www.rocanvillelotto.ca, or stop by the Community Hall, where our volunteers are ready to answer your calls and set you up with your tickets.
Now, once you have your tickets, what does that give you a chance to win?
Well, there are 11 prizes in the main lotto draw, along with the growing 50/50 jackpot.
The biggest prize of all? The grand prize… $100,000 in cold, hard cash! What could you do with that?
Me? Well, if I were to do some really silly ridiculous things with it, I’d buy a semi trailer full of Coke Zero and Old Dutch Mexican Chili chips. I’d commission a life-sized Funko Pop! figure of myself. Oh, and I’d amass a massive sneaker collection, heavy on adidas and Air Jordans! On the flip side, being more realistic, if I won that money, I’d be responsible, pay everything off and be truly debt-free for the first time in my adult life!
But if YOU win, it’s YOUR money, and you can let your imagination run wild and dream about what to do with it!
There are several other cash prizes, as well.
You could win $100 a week for an entire year (to save you the math, that works out to $5,200!) That’d help, right? Keep your car gassed up, or help fill the fridge, or put it toward bills… A very nice prize.
In addition, there are three $1,000 prizes, three $500 prizes, an e-bike, valued at just shy of $3,200, a $5,000 travel voucher, and an $850 meat package gift card.
All fantastic prizes, capped off by the 50/50 draw.
As of 6 p.m. today (September 24), the 50/50 take-home was knocking on the door of $20,000, and the more tickets that are sold, the bigger the pot will grow!
Tickets for the main draw are $100 apiece, while 50/50 tickets are 1 for $20 or 3 for $50. And there’s no limit on how many you can buy. Load up and increase your chances to win! Only 2,500 tickets are being sold for the main draw, and that makes your odds pretty good!
Regardless of whether or not you win a prize on Friday night, you can feel good, knowing that your ticket purchase is being invested into ensuring that Rocanville remains a growing, vibrant and healthy community, and that’s the biggest win of all.
Good luck!
