Reader here, and I thought I’d give you guys a quick update on my move!
After 15 years of living in the same apartment building in downtown Yorkton, I moved into a basement suite on the south edge of town at the end of July.
I’m getting settled in nicely, and had my first barbecue in a long time last night (more on that later this week)!
However, I’ll admit, that it’s taking me longer than it should to get everything put away in its place.

Fortunately, I’m not in a rush, but it’ll be nice to finally get everything unpacked and put away.
Part of the reason is that I like naps. A lot. So that slows the unpacking process. Also, I spent half of August out of town on vacation. And I’m also figuring out how I want to arrange everything. But, in the end, those are all excuses. I just need to buckle down and get the job done.
Once everything is put away, then I can concentrate on some other things around the house, like getting some pictures and stuff up on the walls, and really making the place feel like my own.
The nice thing is, I’m getting settled in, and I’m able to relax and escape from the world. My daily routine has changed, in as much as I have to give myself an extra few minutes to get to work in the morning. But beyond that, the routine really hasn’t changed that much.
I haven’t taken much of an opportunity to walk around and get to know the new neighbourhood either, so I’m looking forward to doing that as well.
Change can be scary, but change can be good, too. So far, I’ve been enjoying this good change in my life. It’s still taking a bit of getting used to, but I’ve enjoyed it so far!
Once everything is in its home, and I’ve got the place arranged, I’ll give you guys a little tour!
