Reader and cereal… a little soggy is okay!

Reader here!  It’s been a minute, but I’m back.  Hope everyone’s been enjoying summer so far.

Sometimes, when you putz around online, you come across the dumbest things.
Like this article from “The Takeout,”  for example.
I’m not usually one to get worked up about silly things online, but this kinda ticked me off!
First of all, what kind of monster fills the bowl with milk first, THEN adds the cereal???
If you put the milk in the bowl, first, then you have a lot less room to add the cereal.  If you like to eat as much cereal as I do, to add that much into the bowl, means a lot of milk will come flooding out onto the table, when you add in the cereal.  It’s simple water displacement!  Physics!
Secondly, this article presupposes that everyone hates soggy cereal.  But I’ll let you all in on a little secret.
I like my cereal a bit soggy.  But, just soggy and soft enough so that it maintains its structural integrity.  I don’t want my cereal turning into absolute mush in the bowl.
I love my Froot Loops and Honey Nut Cheerios.  They’re my two cereal go-tos.  I like a bit of crunch, , but I also like the milk to soften it up.
Now, I know that some folks will say that when the bowl is already full before you add the milk, the milk will splash around everywhere and flood the counter.
Sure it will, if you dump it in there willy-nilly.  Just take your time and you’ll get the proper milk to cereal ratio.
Now, after I got all worked up, here’s a reminder that I’m just middle-aged and cranky, and am particular about how I like my breakfast food.
Ultimately, you do you, and enjoy it however you like!  That’s the fun of freewill – enjoy your freedom of choice when it comes to deliciousness!
