Melfort Mustangs & Yorkton Terriers extend lengthy winning streaks with home ice victories

MILLIONAIRES 0, MUSTANGS 3

The Melfort Mustangs captured their 16th straight win on Friday night after blanking the visiting Melville Millionaires 3-0 at the Northern Lights Palace.

Logan Belton and Ashtyn Hutchinson broke a scoreless tie early in the third with back to back power play goals just 62 seconds into the final frame, before Belton iced it with an empty netter in the final minute.

Kristian Coombs had to make just 14 saves to earn his second shutout of the season, while Mils starter Ben Laurette stopped 22 shots in the loss.

The two teams will face-off again on Saturday night back in Melville starting at 7:00 PM.


BRUINS 3, TERRIERS 7

Keenan Ingram scored four times and added an assist to help the Yorkton Terriers win their eight straight, a 7-3 decision over the Melfort Mustangs at the Westland Insurance Arena.

David Coyle also scored twice for the Terriers while Dustin Renas netted a single.

Kent Moors, Kaelen Whittingham and Luke Hogan replied for the Bruins.

Terriers’ netminder Ethan Farrow made 27 saves on 30 shots to earn the win.

The Terriers return to action on Sunday afternoon hosting the Weyburn Red Wings, while the Bruins go right back at it on Saturday against the very same Red Wings for a Highway 39 battle.
