Hey, everybody! Reader here, and I’ll admit it. I’ve got Lotto Fever!
I’ve got my ticket for the Yorkton Exhibition $100,000 Cash Lottery, as well as tickets on the 50/50 draw, and I’m dreaming of getting that call on Monday afternoon, telling me I’m the winner of the 100K grand prize.
Now, admittedly, if I were to win, I would do responsible things. Pay off debt, sock some away in my bank account… the standard stuff. Maybe I’d take a little vacation somewhere. Nothing too out of the ordinary.
But, as I was talking about the different things the winner could do with the money, some grandiose, kind of silly things popped into my head.
Some of those things included:
Getting a giant aquarium, and filling it with an unreasonable amount of goldfish!
Purchasing a semi trailer full of Skittles!
Picking a random minor hockey league, and sponsoring every team, requiring them to put your name and face on every jersey!
Admittedly, some very silly things. But I’ve never won a major sum like that, in order to make any rash decisions.
So, with that in mind, I put our AI assistant to the test, to scour the interwebs for some of the downright silliest things lottery winners have done with their winnings. And there are some doozies. Here’s a list, in no particular order…
- Space Adventure: Booked a trip to space. Talk about a vacation with a view! (That WOULD be pretty cool!)
- Penguin Room: Created a chilly oasis at home with real penguins. Cool company, right? (Let the penguins stay at home… in Antarctica!)
- Haunted House Fix: Called in ghostbusters to clear their mansion. Better safe than spooky! (Hey… Who you gonna call?)
- Car Collection: Snagged 19 luxury cars in one go. Who doesn’t love a little variety? (I hope they built a giant garage to keep those rides!)
- Castle Dreams: Bought a medieval castle, complete with a moat. Living like royalty! (Did they get crocodiles to swim the moat?)
- Unicorn Farm: Opened a whimsical farm featuring “unicorns” (a.k.a. horned goats). Magical! (After trying “Goat Yoga,” that’s enough goat exposure for me!)
- Island Life: Bought a private island and named it after their beloved cat. Purr-fect getaway! (I’d rather name it after myself – the ultimate ego trip!)
- Time Travel Art: Commissioned paintings of themselves as historical figures. A trip through time! (I think Michael Jackson already did it!)
- Pizza Forever: Bought a pizza franchise to ensure endless slices. Deliciously clever! (Makes perfect sense to me!)
- Clowning Around: Enrolled in clown school just for laughs. Honk if you’re happy! (As long as you’re a nice clown, go for it!)
