Reader here, and you know, I’ve lived in Yorkton for over 18 years, and I’m still finding new places to explore.
Last week, the weather was still gorgeous (funny how quick that can change, eh?) and I felt like getting up off the couch and going for a walk. For whatever reason, I’ve never made it out to check out the city’s walking trails, so I though I’d remedy that, and try one out.
So, I jumped in my car, drove down west of the Gallagher Centre, and decided to check out the trails on the Ravine Ecological Preserve.
It’s really a cool spot, with a ton of greenery, and some interesting stuff to see along the way!
I have to say, though, that my favourite part of the walk was the floating bridge over the water. I stopped for a little bit on my walk, to sit sit on the bridge and take in the scenery.
We’re all running around here and there, living our busy lives, and sometimes, it can easy to miss the natural beauty, that we’re lucky enough to have waiting for us in our own backyard. Sometimes, the most peaceful moments are right around the corner. Step outside, take a deep breath, and enjoy the simple pleasures – the rustling leaves, the birds singing their happy tunes, or the beautiful colors that truly make Saskatchewan the “Land of Living Skies!” These little wonders are there to help you unwind and reconnect.
Maybe you need to just grab some tunes and take a walk to remind yourself of what your own community has to offer!
