66th Threshermen’s Show & Seniors Festival goes this weekend at WDM- Yorkton

Step back in time this weekend at the Western Development Museum in Yorkton for the 66th edition of the Yorkton Threshermen’s Show & Seniors Festival.

 Brought to you by the Western Development Museum – Yorkton, the Yorkton Threshermen’s Club, and the Yorkton Antique Auto Association, this Saturday & Sunday promises ‘an old-fashioned celebration.

“Get a glimpse of Saskatchewan’s heritage through the operation of vintage equipment and the reenactment of methods and techniques from the past,” says WDM-Yorkton Manager Carla Madsen.

The weekend is packed with activities, including threshing, plowing, the Story of Harvest, grain grinding and rolled oats, blacksmithing, sawing, antique tractor displays and competitions, Parade of Power, horse-drawn wagon rides, and children’s mini airplane rides.

 Marvel at threshing demonstrations with both steam-powered and gas-powered engines, giving you a taste of early 1900s harvest work.

Enjoy live entertainment on the outdoor bandstand. For the kids, horse-drawn rides, miniature airplane rides, and a beloved farm animal display await. Relish mouthwatering food from the concession all weekend, featuring a hearty pancake breakfast on Sunday morning.
