The 2024 Super Bowl just happened on Sunday, and can we talk about how insanely expensive it is?! I mean, average ticket resale prices were over $9000!
But wait, it doesn’t stop there. The cost of concessions at the Super Bowl is just outrageous. I heard that a nacho platter costs almost $60! Yes, you read that right, SIXTY DOLLARS for some nachos! And don’t even get me started on the prices for drinks. A can of beer can go as high as $19! It’s like they’re trying to bankrupt us!
Oh, and let’s not forget the $7 water bottles. SEVEN DOLLARS for a bottle of water?! I don’t know about you, but I’d rather stay hydrated and save some cash by bringing my own water bottle, if they let you do that. It’s crazy how they take advantage of people’s basic needs.
And if you’re in the mood for some ribs, get ready to shell out nearly $40! I mean, ribs are delicious, but is it really worth that much? I’d rather head to a local barbecue joint and enjoy a full meal for a fraction of that price.
The craziest part is that you can watch the game at home for FREE! Why would anyone pay thousands of dollars for a ticket when they can have a cozy, comfortable experience on their couch, surrounded by friends and family, with snacks and drinks that don’t cost a fortune? I mean sure, it’s a dream to some people, but is it worth it? Even concerts aren’t near that much.
I know you didn’t go to the Super Bowl, but if you had to think about spending all that money on tickets, concession and even hotel costs, here’s some other things that money could go towards:
- Traveling: You can explore new places, experience different cultures, and create lifelong memories. The world is full of wonders waiting to be discovered, and that’ll last you weeks or even months worth of travelling and experiences.
- Whether it’s saving for retirement, furthering education, or starting a business, there are so many ways you can use that money to secure a better future. Maybe down the line, you can cash out on stocks and finally afford the Super Bowl!
- Pursuing hobbies and passions: We all have things that make us come alive, whether it’s painting, playing an instrument, or practicing a sport. Investing in our hobbies and passions not only brings us joy but also helps us grow as individuals.
- You can buy a decent used car or have a great down payment for one.
- That can cover rent or mortgage payments for a good few months. Although if you can afford going to the Super Bowl, I’m sure your house is well covered.
